About Zionsville Candle Company

Occasionally we receive questions about how we decided to start Zionsville Candle Company, or “why soy?”

Well, it started over 14 years ago with a fundraising company we started, Education Services Corporation. Have you ever bought a discount card sold by football teams, bands, choirs, and other groups all over the U.S.? Well, at one point, we worked with THOUSANDS of these groups all over the country providing our Power Card program and working with tens of thousands of companies throughout the U.S. (Hawaii and Alaska too!!) Education Services, for 14 years, helped schools raise millions of dollars.

What’s this have to do with candles?

Well, we constantly looked for unique fundraisers for our school clients to use to raise funds. Candles was always an idea we considered, but didn’t get serious about until early 2005. While researching the possibility of offering candles to our groups, we started reading about all the benefits of using soy bean wax instead of paraffin.

To make a long story short, we got so excited about soy candles, we decided to sell our fundraising company to devote full-time to developing and offering natural soy candles.
